Menu management and compliance software company Kafoodle is offering a lifeline to businesses.
Kafoodle uses innovative technology to deliver food transparency and allergen awareness, working closely with the Food Standards Agency to ensure businesses are compliant. With millions of individuals suffering from food allergies and intolerances, and even more becoming aware of nutrition and healthy eating, Kafoodle aims to provide simple and easy to use software to allow commercial kitchens to manage their recipes, ingredients, costs, and much more. Using real time information, the system allows for seamless communication between, not only the front and back of house, but with diners as well.
With recent EU-wide legislation coming into force in December 2016 mandating the publication of nutritional information on the majority of pre-packed food, Kafoodle’s new labelling functionality has been added as a “one simple click” process for customers. Existing 2014 legislation already stated that food and drink outlets must be able to show on demand all information relating to allergens in food and drink served. The new updated legislation includes pre-packed produce for the first time, forcing an increasing number of caterers to comply: from grab and go outlets to on board caterers in the cruise and airline sectors.
Co-founder of Kafoodle, Tarryn Gorre said: “Correct labelling of allergens and nutritional information is absolutely crucial to get right. It’s literally a life and death matter for an increasing number of people and yet it continues to be something that hospitality and catering businesses of all sizes struggle to comply with. As experts in this field and our roots firmly within the hospitality industry, we’re on hand to offer support to catering businesses who don’t have the in-house know-how to get to grips with this kind of menu management.”
“We’re delighted to be able to add this easy-to-use labelling product to Kafoodle Kitchen – taking the strain out of the legislation for our customers.”
Kafoodle’s labelling functionality enables customers to instantly print a compliant food label straight from their recipe cards. There are no extra costs and no extra work required, making what could potentially be an extended and stressful process very simple. Businesses already using Kafoodle will be compliance-ready and able to customise label templates.
