The American fast food chain is coming back to British shores.
Wendy’s has confirmed that it will open a new restaurant in Oxford, part of a plan to reenter the market.
“I can confirm that we will be opening a Wendy’s restaurant in Oxford. As previously shared, our first location is in Reading and we are exploring additional opportunities in the London area,” a spokesperson for the American chain told QSR Media via email.
“The brand is excited to enter the UK with Company owned and operated restaurants this year, and we are looking for franchisees to grow with us across the United Kingdom," the spokesperson added.
The chain previously operated around ten restaurants in the country, but left in 2000.
