Sessions buys Asian street food delivery brand Little Bao Boy
The group plans to expand it through franchising.
Restaurant growth platform Sessions has acquired Asian Street food delivery-only brand Little Bao Boy for an undisclosed amount.
Founded in 2016 by James Ooi in a home kitchen in Leeds, Little Bao Boy serves a mix of Asian cuisines from baos, noodles, and rice bowls.
In 2021, Sessions partnered with Little Bao Boy, first taking them to London, including pop-ups at The Sun & 13 Cantons and The Roundhouse, and has now taken the brand nationally, reaching consumers all the way from Plymouth to Durham and locations across Scotland.
The partnership with Sessions has given Little Bao Boy immediate reach across the UK by offering the brand’s blueprint to Sessions' delivery kitchen partners. This delivery-first strategy and digitally-led presence have enabled Little Bao Boy to deliver more than 340,000 orders to date with a 431% year-on-year (YoY) growth.
Following the successful acquisition, Sessions aims to continue this strong YoY growth, continue to expand the brand further nationally, grow QSR franchising and take Little Bao Boy internationally.
The acquisition of Little Bao Boy aligns with Sessions’s long-term growth strategy by giving founders an exit route that preserves what the brand has built, allowing them to step back from physical operations while staying involved in the business without the operational burden of running sites.
Little Bao Boy joins SoBe Burger and Mikos Gyros as brands that have been acquired by Sessions.
