German Doner Kebab (GDK) has appointed Wayne Shurvinton as CEO, replacing Simon Wallis.
Shurvinton will take up the role on 1 September.
Shurvinton has held senior roles in the restaurant, franchising, and hospitality sectors, including at Greene King, KFC, and Pizza Hut.
At Yum! Brands, he held operational, franchise, development, and international roles.
At KFC UK & Ireland, he worked with the company’s franchise network before becoming acquisitions director, overseeing development strategy, capital investment, acquisitions, and estate growth.
He later became COO of KFC MENAPAK, covering 11 countries and about 800 restaurants.
He then served as chief customer officer at Pizza Hut UK & Europe, overseeing operations, digital, IT, quality assurance, and customer experience across about 1,500 restaurants in 27 countries.
Most recently, Shurvinton held senior positions at Greene King, first as managing director of Pub Partners and later as managing director of Partnerships & Ventures.
The latter role covered franchise pubs, hotels, and restaurant brands across about 1,200 sites.
Wallis is stepping down as CEO and will work with Shurvinton and GDK’s board during the transition.
