It has not confirmed, however, how many roles are at risk.
Greggs has confirmed it has started a consultation process with staff over possible redundancies as the furlough scheme comes to an end this October.
The Newcastle-based bakery chain has not confirmed how many jobs are at risk and said the consultation is in the early stages, adding it will to protect as many roles as possible.
Greggs is also considering a number of changes to various operations in the business.
“We are talking to our colleagues about proposed changes to the way we work to make the business as productive and flexible as it can be to protect as many jobs as possible in the long term and adjust our teams to reflect the estimated level of demand,” a Greggs spokesperson said.
