Of these jobs, 50 will be filled by December 2021.
Food ordering solution provided Flipdish announced the creation of 70 jobs in the UK, adding to the 20 already hired in 2020.
Of these jobs, 50 will be filled by December 2021. The move follows its earlier announcement that 230 jobs will also be created in Ireland, where the company is headquartered.
The new jobs are mainly technology roles such as software engineers, engineering managers, software architects, data scientists, mobile engineers, and product designers, Flipdish said. The majority of the roles being recruited for in the UK are in customer success, customer support, and sales.
“The UK market has exploded for Flipdish in 2020. We are very proud to have played a crucial role in alleviating the crisis the hospitality industry faced this year. During the pandemic, Flipdish enabled thousands of food businesses across the globe to pivot from dine-in to delivery and takeaway, sometimes in under 48 hours, and we were proud to partner with them to help them stay open and operate,” Flipdish UK country manager Fionn Hart said.
“More restaurants are now able to offer delivery in a far more sustainable way rather than relying on aggregators which take a huge amount of commission. Research we conducted shows that right now, a third of UK restaurant owners fear they won’t be able to survive past Christmas. We are their lifeline in this turmoil.”
