Bridgepoint mulls sale of Itsu stake—report
The group reported a loss of £6.77m.
Mid-market private equity investor Bridgepoint is reportedly planning to sell its stake in Japanese casual dining chain Itsu, a report by Sky News said.
Bridgepoint first bought a minority stake in Itsu in 2021.
The report comes after Itsu posted a loss for the period attributable to the shareholders of the company of £5.75m for the 52-week period ending January 2026, down from a loss of £6.77m from the same period last year.
Turnover increased by 2.8% to £123.724m and adjusted EBITDA rose slightly to £4.059m, supported by sales growth and higher other operating income, although inflationary pressures weighed on margins.
The group said that in 2026, the focus will remain on upgrading priority sites, optimising throughput and service, whilst selectively pursuing high-quality equity openings in high-footfall UK locations and progressing targeted UK and European franchise opportunities.
