Harry Ramsden's polled over one thousand people in a fun fish and chip survey.
Joining HRH Queen Elizabeth II and king of comedy Peter Kay, armed with a Cuppa for a day out at the seaside would be the perfect way to enjoy fish and chips, according to the nationwide survey carried out by Harry Ramsden’s.
For National Fish and Chip Day, over 1200 people, whose ages ranged from 18 to 85, voted in the fish and chip brand’s fun poll. Queen of daytime TV Holly Willoughby and royal favourite Prince Harry were pipped respectively by Her Majesty and Britain’s king of comedy, as the perfect duo with whom to enjoy a fish and chip date. Fans also voted for a Fish Tea over Fizz and Chips, as prosecco was trumped by a good old cup of tea as the perfect drink to go with their meal.
Frank Romano, Harry Ramsden’s Brand Director commented: “What could be more fun or British than heading to the seaside to spend the day with two national treasures – a Royal appointment with the Queen and a laugh with Peter Kay - whilst tucking into Harry’s world famous fish and chips served with tartare sauce, all washed down with a cuppa! As a nation, it is estimated that we eat over 450 million portions of fish and chips annually, so at Harry’s, we were interested in the nation’s thoughts on their dream fish and chip scenario. From the results, I think they’ve come up a great day out most of us would love to be part of!”
Now in its second year, National Fish and Chip Day is organised by the National Edible Oil Distributors’ Association (NEODA).
