Domino's trials in-car collection service

The pizza chain will roll the service in the rest of the UK if it proves to be a success.

Domino’s announced its in-car collection service, allowing customers to get their orders from a designated area without needing them to leave their cars.

The pizza firm chose areas of Ely, Heath and Pentwyn in Cardiff to trial the service. Customers are told to choose their pizza, sides and desserts for order and select the In-Car Collection option online or via the app.

The store will then send a text message 10 minutes before an order is ready for collection. Customers are then told to share their current locations with the store by clicking a link in the text.

Once arriving at the designated Domino’s parking area, a store team member delivers your pizza order directly to your car.

“We’ve listened to our customers and know that convenience and speed are key when it comes to collection. Despite this being an extremely challenging year for many, we are privileged to be able to develop new innovations for our customers. If the trial at Cardiff is a success, we’ll be looking to roll this out to other stores in the UK,” Domino’s group digital director Clive West said.
