Popeyes UK launches first loyalty programme two years after app debut
The programme uses a points-earning system per £1 spent.
Popeyes UK has launched Popeyes Rewards, its first loyalty programme, allowing customers to earn 100 points for every £1 spent on eligible purchases redeemable against menu items.
Available from 2 September and activated through the Popeyes app, points can be earned through the app, online, at the counter and through self-service kiosks. Customers who register in the first six weeks receive 2,000 points, enough to redeem a Chicken Cruncher.
The programme also introduces Mardi Gras Moments, a quarterly competition and brand collaboration mechanic inspired by the brand's New Orleans roots. The first offers the chance to win £10,000 and free chicken sandwiches for life.
Popeyes Rewards was developed in-house, as was the proprietary self-service kiosk software the company rolled out across its restaurants in 2025 and the voice AI technology now deployed across its drive-thru estate.
The launch follows strong growth in the company's digital channels since the app launched in October 2024. The app has passed one million downloads, with more than 100,000 customers using it to purchase from Popeyes every month.
David Carey, chief technology officer at Popeyes UK, said the programme was an important next step in its digital strategy and that building it in-house would allow the company to keep evolving it as it grows.
Further functionality is already in development, including what the company described as a first for the UK QSR sector designed to put community at the heart of the programme. No further details were given.
