Delice de France ǀ Coup de Pates, the bakery wholesaler owned by Aryzta, has opened its new ‘Customer Innovation Centre’, in Covent Garden, central London.
Whilst they have similar centres dotted around their depots, this marks the first time the company has opened such a facility in central London.
Designed as a training and chef to chef facility, where clients can try out new products or get training in how to assemble semi-prepared treats, the move marks just how large the market for bakery products has become.
With cafes growing at 7% a year, and consumers palates becoming more discerning following the success of programmes such as the Great British Bakeoff, the Group has seen demand for semi-prepared product such as pastry cases and crème patisserie rise dramatically. These products enable retailers to personalize and differentiate their pastry offerings without the need to hire in a full time pastry chef.
