Pret A Manger reveals vegan versions of classic sandwiches

The chain is also reportedly preparing to expand in Ireland.

Pret A Manger has revealed the ‘veganized’ versions of their classic sandwiches.

The new items that make up “The Vegan Classics” include the VLT, a vegan take on the BLT; the vegan “chuna” mayo baguette, the vegan eggless mayo and cress baguette and the vegan hoisin mushroom wrap.

Pret global head of food innovation Hannah Dolan said the chain aimed to mimic the “tastes and textures of the original sandwiches” in its Vegan Classics range.

“This is all part of our mission to make it easier for customers to eat less meat, by offering delicious vegan and vegetarian food,” she said.

Pret A Manger is set to make its debut in Ireland in early 2020, The Irish Independent has reported.

The company is understood to have identified two locations in the country, one of which is in Dublin city centre.

Currently, Pret A Manger currently operates 380-plus outlets in the UK.
