@pizza opens first restaurant in England
An order and collect app was also created exclusively for the site.
Edinburgh-based pizza brand @pizza has officially opened its first restaurant in England at Grand Central, Birmingham.
The 2,000 sq ft restaurant has space for 60 covers and features urban materials and monochrome décor. An open kitchen and counter service, where customers can choose from a total of 64,000 possible topping combinations, are also prime features of the new location.
An order and collect app was also created exclusively for the Grand Central site.
“To launch @pizza in the thriving city of Birmingham is a measure of our success. Grand Central’s prominent location as the main thoroughfare in and out the country’s second city, as well as a shopping and dining destination, made it an obvious choice for the next step in our expansion. Our pizza is made in a matter of seconds in front of customers’ eyes, so it is already a massive hit with busy commuters coming in and out of New Street Station and shoppers looking for a quality pizza offering," Rupert Lyle, Co-Founder and CEO of @pizza said.
Culverwell acted for the brand and BGP acted for Hammerson.
“@pizza is a great addition to Grand Central’s already strong F&B offering, as its extensive menu means there is something for everyone. Their commitment to providing quality food in a sustainable way will be a real draw, and it’s great to see they are already attracting hungry shoppers in their droves." Iain Mitchell, UK Commercial Director at Hammerson, said.
