Domino's Pizza operator in Turkey, Russia reports 26.4% system sales growth in H1 2019
The pizza chain says digital is driving the business forward.
DP Eurasia, the operator of Domino’s Pizza in Turkey and Russia has reported a 26.4% growth in system sales for the six months ended 30 June 2019.
The pizza chain’s like-for-like (LFL) growth for Turkey was 7.7% compared to 10.9% the previous year, following “pro-active steps” at the start of the year. LFL growth for Russia was at 4.7%, compared to 2018’s 18%.
The group’s board expects the full year adjusted EBITDA for 2019, which includes restructuring costs, IPO-related expenses and share based incentives, to be in line with expectations. 64 new stores were also added over the last 12 months, bringing the total number to 736.
Notably, their online delivery system sales as a share of delivery system sales reached 67.5% for the period, compared to 59.3% in the previous period.
“We are pleased with our performance for the first half of 2019 amidst challenging trading conditions. We remain confident in delivering high single digit like-for-like growth in Russia as we moved to a simplified menu, increased investment in our digital channels and refocused local store marketing activities as of July,” DP Eurasia CEO Aslan Saranga said, adding that they are looking to appoint a CEO of their Russian operations by the end of the year.
