Burger King opens first meat-free restaurant in Germany
The concept will be open for just five days.
Burger King has opened its first completely meat-free restaurant in Germany for a limited time.
The chain teamed up with vegetarian meat company The Vegetarian Butchers to create its meat-free menu, which includes vegan versions of their Whopper, nuggets and Whopper wrap.
The move follows Burger King’s recent release of the Vegan Royale and an earlier pledge to reduce waste by recycling 100% of its packaging in all stores by 2025, become energy efficient, and also reduce plastic use.
In March, Burger King’s UK CEO Alasdair Murdoch floated the idea of incorporating its menu with at least 50% plant-based options by 2031.
