Creams owner to open seafood fast-casual restaurant in Streatham
The new restaurant is set to open in December.
The fast-casual seafood restaurant will be opening in Streatham in December 2023.
The brand was founded by Balal Aqil, founder of Creams Cafe, Danny Caratella, Rish Gola and Raf Adam.
The core menu centres on a ‘build your own’ experience where diners first choose their size of shrimp, be that the Prince or Queen, followed by the dip, and finally the seasoning. Other seafood, including crab and lobster, will don the menu, as well as meat choices of beef, lamb or chicken, while a selection of sides will complement any choice.
The brand will also have a selection of desserts from ice cream and cheesecakes, and even a milk cake.
For the launch of the restaurant, Shrimp Shack partnered with design firm Harrison to create a clear brand identity that targets 18 to 45-year-olds.
“We wanted to launch something totally unique that is different from the hundreds of burger chains around, which is where the idea of grilled shrimp came from. This new casual dining experience is going to be as much fun as it is tasty, showcasing innovative experiences to its guests that they’ll want to come back time and time again,” Director Balal Aqil said.
“Shrimp Shack is such an exciting concept. We know that diners today are looking for an experience and turning to the hospitality sector for high-quality, fun dining experiences which deliver fresh flavours and innovative ideas. When working with the Shrimp Shack team to develop the brand identity, we wanted to ensure all the incredible elements and values which make Shrimp Shack unique were represented. The result is a culmination of this – fun, vibrant, engaging and exciting,” Richard Benjamin, Senior Creative Design Lead at Harrison said.
