Whitbread launches cookhouse and pub concept in Oldbury
The company has also confirmed three further openings over the next few months.
UK hotel, restaurant and coffee shop operator Whitbread, has launched its newest brand Cookhouse and Pub in Oldbury, West Midlands. Cookhouse and Pub aims to re-invent the pub dining experience, with the quality food and service of an informal, all-day casual restaurant, and the relaxed vibe and affordability of a pub. The new concept trial is specifically designed to meet the needs of Premier Inn and local guests, and scheduled to open in Holystone in Tyneside, Ripley in Derbyshire and Kilmarnock over the next few months.
The 4,519 square-foot, 237-cover Oldbury site has been developed by York and Leeds based designers JMDA, and includes a 41-cover bar, and a large open kitchen. The new contemporary restaurant and pub has an open kitchen serving grazers and oven fired flatbreads, as well as serving grills, lighter options and brunches, alongside a selection of pub classics, Sunday roasts and desserts. The Cookhouse and Pub also offers a range of craft beers, cask ales and ciders, alongside draught wines and cocktails on tap or by the carafe.
Whitbread Restaurants' head of strategy and innovation Sarah Tinsley said, “We’re hugely excited to have launched the first Cookhouse and Pub in the Midlands and we’re on course to open three more over the coming months. We feel this is a new, bold and revolutionary concept in the pub restaurant market which we hope will be welcomed with open arms. It’s a fantastic opportunity for guests to eat out for less and experience the quality of our food in a relaxed, friendly and welcoming environment."
Cookhouse and Pub is open Monday through to Saturday from 6.30am to 11pm and 7am to 11pm on Sunday.
