Just Eat orders dip 6% despite strong UK sales
Total gross transaction value also fell by 2%.
Just Eat Takeaway saw a fall of 6% dip in total orders to 214.2 million despite strong sales in the UK, according to its latest tradings update.
However, this is a slight improvement from the 7% dipped in the previous three months.
UK and Ireland orders saw an increase of 1% to 60.3 million. Southern Europe and ANZ saw orders fall by 16% whilst Norther Europe dip by 1%.
Gross transaction value (GTV) for the whole year was down by 2%. UK and Ireland GTV climbed by 11% whilst Northern Europe GTV went up by 5%. Southern Europe and ANZ GTV fell by 15% this quarter.
“Just Eat Takeaway.com started the year well, with the acceleration of GTV growth in UK and Ireland and our continued momentum in Northern Europe in Q1 2024. We are excited that the investments in our business are paying off, and we are looking forward to the rest of the year,” Jitse Groen, CEO of Just Eat Takeaway.com said.
