Costa Coffee broadens partnership with food waste fighting app
The coffee chain says the team up has prevented over 25,000kg of CO2 emissions through its customers to date.
Costa Coffee announced it has expanded its partnership with food waste fighting app Too Good To Go from nine to 100 stores.
The partnership allows customers to purchase unsold food from it stores via a free app. Consumers purchase the food from a nearby store and collect at the designated pick up time.
The collection can consist of three or more items which collectively would total £10, all reduced to the lower price of £3. The results of their partnership saw 10,355 Costa Coffee meals collected through the app.
“We have seen some fantastic results working with Too Good to Go, preventing over 25,000kg of CO2 emissions through customers using the app to date. We are looking forward to extending the scheme in the future,” Victoria Moorhouse, head of sustainability at Costa Coffee, said.
