McDonald's adds £1 book tokens in Happy Meal boxes
The tokens can also be traded for discounts on books and audiobooks at participating bookshops and supermarkets.
McDonald’s has partnered with charity World Book Day in adding £1 book tokens in Happy Meal boxes from 5 February to 17 March.
The £1 book token can be exchanged for a free book amongst the charity’s range of books, featuring titles from award-winning authors like Anthony Horowitz, Matt Haig and Beth Reekles.
It can also be traded for a £1 discount on a book or audiobook at participating bookshops and supermarkets from 27 February to 29 March.
The partnership is part of McDonald’s commitment to support family reading. Since 2013, the fast food giant has distributed 90 million free books to children as part of its Happy Readers campaign.
