Papa John's becomes ParalympicsGB partner ahead of Tokyo Games
The partnership will see the chain support the ParalympicsGB team in the run up to the games in 2021.
Papa John’s announced that it will become a partner of ParalympicsGB, whose team is preparing for the rescheduled Paralympic games next summer in Tokyo.
Lasting until the end of 2021, the partnership will see the pizza brand lend its support by fundraising and joining three athlete ambassadors, David Weir, Alfie Hewett and Alice Tai on their journey to the games.
The digital marketing campaign, We are Limitless, launched by the pizza chain on 25 August, aims to raise awareness of how each athlete ambassador has “overcome challenges they’ve faced and acts as a rallying cry”, encouraging both Papa John’s staff and customers to collectively raise £250,000 for ParalympicsGB.
Papa John’s ambassadors include wheelchair athlete and Paralympic legend David Weir, a six-time gold medallist and eight-time winner of the London Marathon; Alfie Hewett, a grand slam champion in wheelchair tennis; and swimmer Alice Tai, a gold medallist at European, World, Commonwealth and Paralympic level.
