What were Caffe Nero and Leon Named as First Retail Partners for?
First retail partners in Penny for London scheme.
Caffe Nero and Leon have been announced as Penny for London's first retail partners.
The charity scheme, devised by the Mayor's Fund for London, was first announced at the end of October when Londoners using contactless payment cards could donate a penny every day they travelled on London Underground, bus, tram, DLR, London Overground, or National Rail Services.
Now that ability has been extended to both Caffe Nero and Leon, where patrons will be able to donate when they purchase their drinks and food from the chains. Both companies will also match patrons donations.
Speaking of the announcement James Flett, Partnerships Manager at Caffe Nero said "Supporting the communities we serve has always been an aim of ours and with Penny for London we are able to make this something our customers can share in.". Leon's Chief Executive John Vincent added "We're really delighted to be at the forefront of this brilliant initiative, thousands of young people are going to benefit from this".
