How Bewiched Coffee’s new store design boosts efficiency

The coffee shop brand is set to open four more branches this year.

Bewitched Coffee is giving its stores a facelift, designed to boost staff efficiency and improve services.

This modern upgrade will be rolled out in all of Bewiched’s stores. The redesign comes at the back of the coffee chain’s ambitious target to reach 40 stores by the end of 2026, including 20 drive-thrus by 2025.

In an interview with QSR Media, Matt Fountain, Managing Director of Bewiched Coffee talked to us about this redesign as well as their targets for this year.

QSR Media: Tell us about Bewiched Coffee, What do you offer your customers that is unique only to you? 

Matt: We pride ourselves on serving freshly roasted premium coffee across all of our sites, alongside this our teams put a huge amount of energy into consistently delivering great service.

You're Kettering branch has recently seen a renovation and improvement. Could you please give us the rundown on the changes? What are the reasons behind these improvements? 

The Kettering store was our second site, we wanted to reinvest back into the site, to not only give our team better tools to do the job but to also reward our customers with the best all-around coffee experience in Kettering, as a thank you for their loyal custom over the years.

What can you tell us about the new design? Did you partner with someone about this? 

The new design is contemporary, and relaxed, utilising the natural light offered by the store itself. We partnered with Andy at Kiteboy Creative who has helped bring our brand to life in the store.

Aside from updates in the interior, you mentioned installations of new equipment and technology. What are these installations and what do they do for your operations?

We take great pride in our counter ergonomics & go to great lengths to design spaces that allow the teams to work efficiently & with less stress, to facilitate better service.

Will these new designs be incorporated in other branches? 

Yes, we are working through our portfolio to refit stores, as well as into all new stores.

What do you hope to achieve with these recent upgrades? 

Investments back into the business, are aimed to always improve both the team & customer experience.

What are your plans for this year? 

We have another two stores opening under our franchise agreement with our partners at the Heart Of England Co-op, we will also be looking to open two new stores ourselves one of which will be another drive-thru.
