Wendy's reentry starting with five restaurants in 2021
The Reading restaurant is slated to open in the first half, the chain said.
Wendy’s is planning to kickstart its UK reentry with five restaurants in 2021, a spokesperson for the American fast food chain told QSR Media.
This includes the upcoming stores in Reading and Oxford, which they have confirmed in past months. The former, the spokesperson said, is planned to open in the first half of this year.
Its UK menu is expected to have the Dave's Single, Chocolate Frosty, Spicy Chicken Sandwich and Avocado Chicken Salad once their doors open. The full menu is expected in the upcoming months.
Wendy’s said it looks to differentiate itself in a crowded market with a “fresh off the grill” approach, with meals made to order, including salads that are prepared fresh.
“At the same time, quality goes beyond the food and restaurant experience and is part of the Wendy’s brand DNA. It also extends to the quality of our relationships with people. Our core values that Dave Thomas (founder and CEO of Wendy’s) has demonstrated for over 50 years remain at the core of how we operate today because we know people are our most important asset,” the spokesperson said.
“We’re thinking differently and finding new ways to grow in an ever-changing environment, and our franchisees have been opportunistic and turning challenges into triumph.”
