Freshly Chopped opens first store in Manchester
This is the brand's 60th store.
Irish healthy food brand Freshly Chopped is opening its first store in Manchester.
The new store is the 60th Freshly Chopped and follows recent openings in Drogheda and Cavan since the start of 2019.
“It has taken us longer than we originally anticipated for the dream of a store in the UK to become a reality mainly because of the uncertainty created by Brexit. We’re confident though that we have found the right location and crucially that we have the right infrastructure in place to deliver the foundation we need to grow the brand in the UK," Brian Lee, co-founder and managing director of Freshly Chopped, said.
Lee says they will be "very careful and deliberate" with their rollout strategy and have created a new supply chain that they label as "Brexit-proofed".
"There is a vast demand in the British market for healthy fast food and we have been inundated with requests to open in Britain over the last six years, both from Irish people living abroad and British people who have seen what we have been offering in Ireland,” he added.
The new company-owned store is located in Piccadilly Plaza and suppliers include Johnson’s Coffee, Antrim and Sanam’s Sweetcakes, a local Manchester bakery that provides vegan, gluten free and dairy free treats. The new outlet will also see Cork’s Rebel Chilli introduced to the UK.
