Costa Coffee to rollout RTD drinks under The Coca-Cola Co
The new range of ready-to-drink beverages are set to launch mid-year.
Just-Drinks reported that The Coca-Cola Co, which had acquired Costa Coffee in January for US$4.9bn, announced its plans to use Costa Coffee’s stores in Europe and Asia to expand into retail.
CEO James Quincey said that the RTDs will combine with Costa's existing range of vending machines to offer Coca-Cola a "twin" to its Freestyle soda dispenser. The ‘world class’ vending machines will be used for both traditional bean-style coffee dispensing and RTD products.
"Obviously, ready-to-drink and the vending machines are very much in the sweet spot," Quincey said. "We see absolute opportunities to accelerate that, including the roll-out later this year of the ready-to-drink Costa brand."
