Central Perk shops close down

The coffee shop chain shut down its Chester, Bold, Hatton stores and will be auctioning off fixtures and items online via its Facebook page.

Central Perk made the announcement through the social media page, citing 'prohibitive' and 'extensive' business rates as the reason for the closure.

"As many of you are aware our Chester & Bold Street store closed this past week, and it is with great sadness that we advise that our Hatton Store will also close. We have had a blast and enjoyed all your visits & apologise notice has been short coming," the brand said.

"The two Liverpool Stores will take on all the current team, so jobs are safe and we wish the team and new independent owners all the luck with the new venture - Ameriesko, a new American TV & Music themed Café Bar, we do hope our loyal customers will give them try and keep the team going! Finally, all the Central Perk items from store, will be going on-line via our Facebook Page for a silent auction this coming week. Orange Sofa's, Lights, Frames, Coffee Machines, Neon Signs, etc - all original replica's."
