
Morrisons, Just Eat launches first supermarket takeaway store
Indian street food restaurant Bombay Bites Express launched at Morrisons in the Victoria Shopping Centre, Bradford.
Bombay Bites Express will give guests the choice to eat in-store at Morrisons in the Victoria Shopping Centre, Bradford, or pick up their order at the end of their shop. The restaurant’s menu will also be available on Just Eat, the marketplace for online food delivery, and customers can order for collection or delivery.
Bombay Bites is a Bradford-based family-run business, headed up by Samir Kader. The Bombay Bites Express will employ 10 people and is open from 8am to 8pm Monday to Saturday, and 9:30am to 4pm on Sunday’s. The restaurant’s menu offers an Indian breakfast, and main dishes which include a wide selection of curries, Indian rolls and dosas (a crispy fermented crepe rolled and stuffed with a potato filling, fried onion and spice mix, served with coconut chutney and sambar).
There is a choice of desserts including Indian favourites and British classics, as well as a vast selection of hot and cold drinks including fruit lassis, a flavoured yoghurt drink.
Rebecca Singleton, Morrisons director of local solutions, said: "We have listened to the customers who shop in our Victoria store and they told us they'd love a takeaway service as an extra reason to shop with us."
