Parisian restaurant Yen to open in London this autumn
Its site is located in the new 190 Strand development.
Yen will specialize in Soba, the buckwheat noodle variety, with a glass space dedicated to the twice-daily preparation of the noodles open to all in the restaurant. The inspiration behind opening Yen in London was a desire from the Directors of the group to recreate the soba product served in Paris.
The Kitchen team will be confirmed in due course and Head Chef, Head of Sushi, and Head of Soba positions are to be filled with talent from restaurants in Paris, London and Kyoto.
Cristoforo Santini of Yen said, “We are excited to bring such a unique offering to London, in a particularly exciting new development. We hope that the restaurant will become a hub of high quality Japanese food with a great atmosphere and drinks list to match.”
The central features of the restaurant are the high ceilings and the lightweight timber floating staircase which was designed by Architects Sybarite.
Simon Mitchell, co-founder, Sybarite said, “We’re thrilled to have the opportunity to deliver a design that respects and celebrates traditional Japanese craftsmanship whilst creating a contemporary and timeless backdrop to host the capital’s next restaurant destination.”
