Pizza Pilgrims' first Pizza Academy launching in Camden
The space will function as both a training center and a pizzeria.
Pizza Pilgrims is slated to open its first “Pizza Academy” in Camden, a space that will offer free courses and a programme of lectures from industry experts.
Also operating as a pizzeria, the location’s profits will serve as funding for the training academy.
Aimed at the young, ex-homeless, ex-offenders or “anyone that needs a fresh start,” Pizza Pilgrims said its founders created the programme “to negate the existing perception that a role in the industry is often temporary.”
During the day, the academy space will be found at the back of the pizzeria, with two dedicated private training rooms and a dedicated training kitchen space. Next to it is a ‘pizza theatre’ for training larger groups of people on specific pizza skills and concepts.
The pizzeria will then provide live environment for graduates to test their skills.
Pizza Pilgrims will also utilise the academy’s space to experiment testing pizza recipes and ideas, as well as exploring ways to reduce waste.
The Pizza Academy will open its doors in Camden on 16th March. Applications open in February and are open to individuals aged 16 and above.
