Pizza Pilgrims founders to launch hospitality training programme in early 2020
The Pizza Academy will offer free courses and a programme of lectures from industry experts.
Amid current challenges of staff retention and recruitment within the hospitality industry, Pizza Pilgrims announced that its founders James and Thom Elliot will be launching a hospitality training programme for young people.
In early 2020, The Pizza Academy in Central London will offer free courses available to persons interested to build a career in hospitality, as well as delivering in-depth training for new and existing Pizza Pilgrims employees.
Students will have the opportunity to learn aspects of the hospitality business, which include waitering, management and Pizza Pilgrims’ way of making pizza.
The Academy also aims to support Pizza Pilgrims’ own business, which currently has 11 sites across London and Oxford.
At the end of each course, students will either have the option of working for Pizza Pilgrims – or be introduced to other businesses in the founders’ network.
Aside from the more formal training courses, a programme of lectures from industry experts will also be held at The Academy. Weekend courses in a range of modules will be bookable for part-time students as well.
Applications for The Pizza Academy will open in autumn 2019 and are open to individuals aged 16 and above.
