The new position is designed to support the brand’s UK and International operations.
Caffè Nero announced the appointment of Gareth Hopley as its new Head of Communications. Hopley will report directly to founder Gerry Ford, and oversee all of the company’s internal and external communications.
“Gareth has vast experience leading communications in the hospitality industry having driven the communications strategy at Pizza Hut Restaurants for seven years, helping to manage and develop the reputation of the business and to support a significant brand transformation programme, both internally and externally for Pizza Hut,” said Gerry Ford, Founder and Group CEO of Caffè Nero.
“I’m delighted he has joined our team to support the continued growth of our business both here in the UK and abroad. I think he will do an excellent job helping our customers and the general public learn more about our family owned and managed Italian coffee company.”
Hopley will assume responsibility for the brand’s internal communication, while also establishing and leading the PR and reputation management functions of the business. He will additionally provide support across Caffè Nero’s international territories as the brand continues its strong international growth and expansion.
He comes to Caffè Nero with over 16 years PR and communications experience in both agency and in-house roles. He came from Pizza Hut Restaurants where he ran communications during the turnaround programme which saw the brand sold to private equity and later to an MBO. Hopley also sits on the Council for industry group UKHospitality.
