Costa Coffee appoints Jill McDonald as CEO

Dominic Paul has announced his resignation effective 30 November.

Ex-Marks & Spencer managing director Jill McDonald is set to replace outgoing Costa Coffee CEO Dominic Paul in 2 December.

Currently serving on the board of InterContinental Hotels Group, McDonald has previously held administrative positions in several corporations such as British Airways, McDonald’s Corp., and retailer Halfords Group.

“I have long been a fan of Costa and have watched the company grow in the UK and far beyond,” McDonald said in a statement. “I look forward to joining the Costa leadership team and building on the great foundation and growth potential in the business.”

Commenting on McDonald’s appointment, Coca-Cola’s Global Venture president Jennifer Mann said: “Her track record, depth of international experience and excitement about joining our business makes her an ideal leader to build on the great work of Dominic and the rest of the Costa team.”

Paul has announced his resignation effective 30 November but shall stay with the company as special advisor through February 2020.
