Laurie McIlwee was named as Boparan Restaurant Group's executive chairman.
Boparan Restaurant Group owns the restaurant chains Ed's Easy Diner, Giraffe and Harry Ramsden's.
A spokesperson for BRG said; "Laurie (Mcilwee) is working within the Boparan private office as Chairman of the restaurant team, assisting Tom (Crowley) and the team with the execution of strategy."
