McDonald's Corporation negotiates contract with Uber Eats in the U.S.

This comes ahead of the delivery company’s initial public offering.

McDonald’s Corporation is looking to make delivery more profitable for its franchisees.

Bloomberg cited an internal memo, indicating that the fast food giant’s senior leadership and franchisees recently met with Uber Eats to negotiate lower fees paid to the ride-share startup.

Whilst particulars of the deal have not been finalized, the memo said the terms will include “significantly reduced commission rates for all U.S. restaurants” and ultimately allow franchisees to use different delivery partners.

The development comes amidst Uber’s initial public offering, expected next month.
