Pizza Hut shuts down operations in Greece
The pizza chain operated in the country for 12 years.
Pizza Hut is closing all its 16 stores in Greece with immediate effect.
As reported by the Greek Reporter, operations in the country were described as “no longer viable” due to the coronavirus pandemic, which “hit the catering industry hard and led to the worsening of the existing difficulties and the inability to reverse the negative climate.”
It is estimated that at least 180 people will lose their job as a result.
The country’s lockdown also “led to significant losses”, making the project “unsustainable.”
