The fast food chain said it recently hired external consultants to investigate unauthorized activity on an internal security system, prompted by a specific incident in which the unauthorized access was cut off a week after it was identified. Chipotle has raised its menu prices by about 4%, with its CEO blaming the increase on higher labor costs in a tight hiring market. As noted by Restaurant Business, the fast casual chain raised its menu prices on delivery orders an average of 13% to make up for the hit its margins had taken because of the success of the off-premise channel. Subway stores in the U.S. that close more than once a year without permission barring “an act of God” — a strict legal term that tends to include only the most severe of natural disasters — are now at risk being taken over by the sandwich company, sources told the New York Post.
