Chipotle Mexican Grill announced that CEO Brian Niccol will now also be serving as board chairman.
Niccol succeeds Chipotle founder Steve Ells, who previously served as executive chairman. Ells is also no longer a board director.
Niccol was previously Taco Bell as CEO before taking the leadership mantle at Chipotle.
Meantime, the company also said that board directors Matthew Paull and Paul Cappuccio would not go for re-election at the company’s upcoming annual shareholder meeting.
