Online sales boost PAUL UK growth
The group's turnover increased to £38.0m, compared to £35.4m in 2017.
French bakery and cafe brand PAUL released its earnings report for the year ended 31 December 2018, with group turnover having reached £38.0m, up by 7.4% compared to the previous year.
Like-for-like sales were up 3.4% compared to 2.4% in 2017 whilst online sales increased by 43.9%.
PAUL’s positive results in the second half of 2018 continued in 2019 with like-for-like turnover up by 9.5% year to date.
“This is a solid performance by PAUL in light of continued uncertainty within the sector,” PAUL UK finance director Susanne Sauerland said.
The company added that the significant increases in like-for-like turnover were due to new product development, improved technology, and online sales.
PAUL Express, a new concept store which focuses on quick service, was launched at St. Pancras Station. A second PAUL Express store focusing on grab-and-go offerings also opened in May on Tottenham Court Road.
