Fresh pasta concept to open on Holloway Road
Berto’s first site is set to opens its doors later this month.
A hand-made fresh pasta concept from the team behind Zia Lucia is opening later this August.
Berto, which will serve a selection of pasta doughs made from traditional, wholemeal and gluten free flours, will open its doors next to its sister venue on Holloway Road.
The 45-cover restaurant will be centred around a pasta bar. Hand-crafted pastas include fresh egg tagliatelle and pappardelle, vegan pici, gnocchi and filled pasta such as ravioli. Pasta dishes will be priced from £8 - £13 and the menu will also feature a changing selection of specials.
Owned by Claudio Vescovo and Gianluca D’Angelo, Berto is named after the founders’ friend and teacher, Piero – or ‘Berto’ as they call him – serving as an inspiration behind the evolvement of the brand and a key figure in the restaurant by training the in-house team.
The drinks menu meanwhile will include a selection of Italian wines, alongside beers from North London brewers, Hammerton Brewery, and succinct cocktail list of aperitivo and digestivo.
