Birmingham, Glasgow is hospitality sector’s top cities: report
But inflationary pressures threaten hospitality’s revival.
Hospitality continues to help post-pandemic recovery of Britain's top cities, with Birmingham and Glasgow at the top, CGA by NielsenIQ and Wireless Social research showed.
The Top Cities report combines CGA’s sales data with log-in data from Wireless Social, leading connectivity solutions provider for hospitality and leisure business to provide a ranking of Britain’s 10 most populous cities over the four weeks to 27 August 2022.
Birmingham is on the top of the list for the first time this year, ahead of Glasgow which led the rankings in the previous four-week period.
Leicester and Liverpool are amongst the cities on the rise in the new chart, in third and fourth place, respectively.
The report also indicated that hospitality’s recovery is almost struggling, with sales in four of the biggest cities in the UK lower than the 2019 levels.
