
Spend in restaurants, pubs soar 215% during high street reopening
Restaurants in particular benefited from a boom in bookings.
Pubs and restaurants were dubbed the “standout winners” when the high reopened last month, according to new data from Cardlytics.
The company, which analysed purchasing habits of more than 12 million active UK bank card customers, revealed a 64% rise in consumer spending in pubs, restaurants, salons and non-essential retail in the week of 12 April.
Restaurants in particular benefited from a boom in bookings, with spend up 62% in the first week of reopening.
