Gen Z women are the top street food fans, with 18% calling it their ideal night out.
Around 70% of UK consumers are interested in visiting a street food market, increasing to 84% of Gen Zs, according to Unilever Food Solutions’ Future Menu report.
Gen Z women emerge as the biggest group of street food super fans, with 18% citing a visit to a street food market as their ideal night out.
This generation stands out as the most frequent diners in the UK, backed by significant growing spending power. The report noted that their preference for casual dining and budget-friendly options plays a key role in their choices.
Additionally, affordable pricing is crucial for securing repeat visits from Gen Z, with 52% saying they would return to a restaurant and 37% likely to return if prices are affordable.
Elevated street food helps meet Gen Z’s need for ongoing excitement with food experiences to encourage them to eat out, with two-thirds (64%) saying they would still rather stay home on a Friday night than go out with friends.
