
Why Domino's Investment in Technology is Paying Off
Q3 interim statement shows continued improvement in UK & ROI sales, powered by on-line sales.
Domino's Pizza Group plc have announced their results for the 13 weeks to 28 September 2014 and they make for impressive reading once again.
Like-for-like sales in the UK increased 12.9% in the 13 week period, and 11.8% year to date. ROI like-for-like sales improved 7.6% over the period, and 4.0% year to date.
However, even more impressive than the double digit growth experienced in the UK is the continued penetration of their on-line ordering system, which now accounts for over 70% of their sales (vs 62.4% in 2013). Ordering via mobile device is also close to breaking the 50% barrier, at 49.3% (vs 33.8% in 2013).
Other highlights included:
- Switzerland like-for-like sales up 7.6% over the 13 week period
- Germany like-for-like sales down 9.9% over the 13 week period
- 21 store openings in the UK over 2014, with 13 of those being in the past quarter
Speaking of the results, David Wild, Chief Executive Officer said "We are delighted with the like-for-like performance in our core UK business.. We are building on our success on-line with the roll-out of our new website and a series of enhancements to continue to make it easy for our customers to order Domino’s"
