Café Rouge set to open cheese-themed hotel concept
The hotel launch follows the release of the French cafe brand’s Winter menu.
Café Rouge has announced it is opening a cheese-themed hotel concept in London on 29 January.
The Cheese Suite, to be located in Camden, will feature various items based on cheese from walls to decorations, throws to beddings, giant installations to scented soaps. There will also be a delivery service for cheese-based items from the bistro chain, as well as cheese board games and cookbooks available.
The hotel launch follows the release of the French cafe brand’s Winter menu which also features cheese, consisting of cheese afternoon tea, breaded camembert, three-cheese croques, beef bourguignon burger.
“We always want to cater to the appetite of our customers, and we know that there’s a real hunger for cheese-based dishes after serving over 20,000 Cheese Afternoon Teas since launching in 2018, Café Rouge marketing head Jacqueline Fletcher said in a statement.
The hotel concept and menu release came about the data from Cheese Board which revealed that 700,000 tonnes of cheese are consumed each year with every Brit eating up to 27.4 grams of the food item each day.
Café Rouge will offer free one-night stay to guests from 29 January to 6 February with a donation drive for the benefit of its partner charity Prince’s Trust.
