Costa Coffee taps cloud technology in overseas expansion bid
The coffee chain says the data migration move will aid in improving customer experience and brand loyalty.
Costa Coffee has tapped cloud technology by digital service provider ANS Group to aid the chain’s global expansion.
The migration of Costa’s key systems into the cloud will also aid in “improving customer experience and brand loyalty” across their 2,467 stores and Express machines.
“[T]he acquisition by Coca-Cola has shifted our horizons significantly and we now have to be far more agile in terms of getting into markets that are further away. The acquisition has brought that global scale and global pace to the forefront our expansion strategy, but we still need to maintain the operational efficiency and operation tooling that will manage our business and capacity planning which is a bigger part of our agenda as we go forward, Costa Coffee CIO Phil Scully said in a statement.
Currently operating in 31 counties, the coffee chain plans to enter new markets whilst it leverage the production and distribution capabilities of its new owner Coca-Cola.
