Delivery Hero eyeing larger share of UK's takeaway market with potential swoop
It boasts a stock market value of almost £17 billion.
Delivery Hero hinted at a swoop for one of the top three takeaway companies in the UK.
The head of the German-based company, which previously owned now-defunct operator Hungryhouse, believes there is scope for acquiring one of the “less good” big three.
“The only way to enter the UK market would be through an acquisition of some kind,” Delivery Hero co-founder and CEO Niklas Östberg told The Daily Telegraph.
Listed in Amsterdam with a market value of almost €19 billion (£17 billion), Östberg said Delivery Hero is delivering “substantially better” than its rivals.
