De­liv­ery Hero eyeing larger share of UK's take­away mar­ket with po­ten­tial swoop

It boasts a stock market value of almost £17 billion.

Delivery Hero hinted at a swoop for one of the top three takeaway companies in the UK.

The head of the German-based company, which pre­vi­ously owned now-de­funct op­er­a­tor Hun­gry­house, be­lieves there is scope for ac­quir­ing one of the “less good” big three.

“The only way to en­ter the UK mar­ket would be through an ac­qui­si­tion of some kind,” Delivery Hero co-founder and CEO Nik­las Öst­berg told The Daily Tele­graph.

Listed in Amsterdam with a mar­ket value of al­most €19 billion (£17 billion), Öst­berg said De­liv­ery Hero is de­liv­er­ing “sub­stan­tially bet­ter” than its ri­vals.
