Social distancing e-book for operators released
Access Hospitality outlines solutions that could help in adhering to guidelines likely to be implemented.
An e-book to help operators navigate potential social distancing measures expected to persist has been released by Access Hospitality.
“The message from UK restaurant and bar operators has been loud and clear as many warn that they do not expect their business to survive if social distancing measures have to be in place, so hospitality owners will have to carefully consider all the options available to them to respond to any restrictions,” Henry Seddon, Managing Director of Access Hospitality, commented.
“There is technology available to provide solutions to immediate challenges such as booking management and floor plan table layout, as well as less visible issues such as queue management and remote payment solutions.”
The guide includes sections on bookings, automated call systems, pre-order, order and pay at table, table layouts, staggered arrivals, payment tools, virtual queuing, events, marketing, takeaways and deliveries.
The Access Hospitality guide to social distancing is available for free download at this page.
Vegware, meanwhile, created a 24-page interactive guide to new packaging considerations, to help foodservice operators plan for new socially-distanced service models.
Aside from practical advice on packaging formats to enable distanced service and successful client communication, the brochure contains a visual ‘look book’ for chefs developing new menu offerings.
“We are here for our friends in foodservice, providing the packaging they need to get back to what caterers do best: creating new menus, serving delicious food, and feeding communities," Vegware sales director Teresa Suter said.
