Uber Eats orders up by 160% during lockdown: report
The number of new restaurants on its UK platform has almost doubled in the last four months.
Orders on Uber Eats have jumped significantly since the beginning of the lockdown, skyrocketing by over 160% as consumers pivoted to food delivery apps.
City A.M. reports that the number of new restaurants on the platform has almost doubled in the last four months to a total of 17,000.
“[Uber Eats has] become increasingly an essential service for all involved. Restaurants turned to us more than ever to ensure they can continue to drive sales during economic difficulties,” Uber Eats general manager for UK and Ireland Toussaint Wattinnetold the publication.
Convenience and grocery orders in the platform jumped 166% whilst coffee orders made via the app have also increased 149%.
