Wagamama launches click-and-collect service
The brand also expanded its delivery operations.
Wagamama has launched its own click-and-collect service in a bid to adapt to changing customer needs.
The new service is in conjunction with the launch of their new click-and-collect website that allows guests to pre-order and select a collection time to avoid a queue at their restaurants.
It also announced the expansion of their delivery operation to 100 restaurants nationwide.
Wagamama said it is “already looking ahead to the future”, developing new ways of operating their in restaurant experience in anticipation for opening for dine-in as lockdown restrictions ease.
Last month, the chain announced the reopening of 67 nationwide delivery sites, which eventually got the go ahead to operate click and collect on 3 June. An additional 18 sites will be opening on 11 June 11 whilst a further 15 sites will reopen by the end of July.
“We recognise life after COVID-19 requires all of us to adapt to a ‘new normal’. For Wagamama, we have wanted to ensure we can still get our delicious fresh food to our guests but this has to be underpinned by an imperative to do this safely for both our teams, guests and the delivery drivers who support us. Both contactless delivery and pre-booking your takeout slot through click + collect supports this safety-first operating stance,” CEO Emma Woods said in a media release.
